🍜 Democrats on the Move: Exploring the Heart of Chinatown with Special Guest, Supervisor Danny Sauter

San Francisco’s Chinatown is not only the oldest Chinatown in North America. It’s a living symbol of resilience, cultural identity, and community power. Established in the 1850s, this vibrant neighborhood has long been a cornerstone of Chinese American life and political activism, surviving waves of discrimination, redevelopment threats, and most recently, the economic devastation of the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, Chinatown remains a vital part of San Francisco’s civic fabric and a focal point in our city’s efforts to support small businesses, preserve cultural heritage, and uplift immigrant communities.

Join Democrats on the Move as we head to Chinatown for an afternoon of food, conversation, and community with District 3 Supervisor Danny Sauter. As someone who lives near and represents this iconic neighborhood, Supervisor Sauter brings a unique perspective on Chinatown’s challenges and opportunities, from preserving affordable housing and boosting economic recovery to public transportation and improving public safety.
