Pink Triangle: Installation & Ceremony
Join the San Francisco Democratic Party in commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Pink Triangle installation atop Twin Peaks—a powerful symbol of resilience, remembrance, and Pride. Each year, volunteers come together during Pride Month to install the massive one-acre triangle made of bright pink tarps, transforming a once-feared symbol into one of hope and solidarity.
This year’s event begins early on Saturday, June 7, 2025, with volunteers gathering at 7am to lay out the 175 tarps and secure them with nearly 5,000 steel spikes. No experience is needed—just bring your energy, gloves, and a hammer if you have one. Volunteers will receive a commemorative Pink Triangle T-shirt as a thank you for their time and support. At 10:30am, a commemorative ceremony will take place, featuring local leaders, community voices, and performances.
This gathering is more than an installation—it's a moment of unity, reflection, and celebration. By volunteering, you’ll help keep the memory of LGBTQ+ persecution alive while affirming our collective commitment to a more inclusive future. Whether you’re a long-time advocate or showing up for the first time, your presence matters. Let’s come together to build something meaningful and unforgettable. REI Union Community Hearing with Special Guest Congresswoman Lateefah Simon
REI markets itself as a progressive outdoor co-op, but its actions tell a different story. Despite its reputation, REI has engaged in union-busting tactics, violated labor laws, hired a notorious anti-union attorney connected to Elon Musk, and supported political figures who advocate for opening public lands to mineral exploration—policies that directly conflict with the environmental values REI claims to champion.
For over three years, REI workers have been fighting for a fair contract. During this time, they’ve faced intimidation, delays, and illegal union-busting efforts from corporate leadership. Now more than ever, we need community support to hold REI accountable and protect the rights of workers.
Join us for a Community Hearing on Saturday, April 26th at the First Presbyterian Church of Oakland. With special remarks by Congresswoman Lateefah Simon, this gathering will feature testimony from REI workers on the front lines, environmental allies whose missions align with the co-op’s original values, and elected officials standing in solidarity with labor.
This is your chance to hear the real stories behind REI’s public image—and to take action. Bring a friend, your neighbors, or your favorite trail buddy, and learn how we can build a stronger, fairer outdoor community together.

San Francisco thrives when we come together. That’s why the San Francisco Democratic Party is teaming up with Refuse Refuse, SOMA West CBD, SF Public Works to take action and make a real difference in one of our city's most affected neighborhoods.

This is more than a cleanup—it’s a movement. It’s about standing up for our city, supporting the communities that need it most, and proving that small acts of service can lead to lasting change.
Join us for a few hours of meaningful work, good company, and the satisfaction of knowing you’re making a tangible impact. Together, we can make San Francisco shine.

If you need sign inspiration, see this folder from Indivisible: https://brandfolder.com/s/trktmftbhrcpqjrmcjgk5cxm
From the event organizers:
Donald Trump and Elon Musk think this country belongs to them. San Francisco is fighting back!
They're taking everything they can get their hands on—our health care, our data, our jobs, our services—and daring the world to stop them. This is a crisis, and the time to act is now.
🚨 On Saturday, April 5th, we're taking to the streets to fight back with a clear message: Hands off! 🚨
📍 Where: Civic Center Plaza
This mass mobilization day is our message to the world that we do not consent to the destruction of our government and our economy for the benefit of Trump and his billionaire allies. Alongside Americans across the country, we are marching, rallying, and protesting to demand a stop the chaos and build an opposition movement against the looting of our country.
A core principle behind all Hands Off! events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

Bayard Rustin Coalition: The Bayard Rustin Coalition (BRC) came into being during 2006 to honor Bayard Rustin – the heart and soul of the United State’s Civil Rights Movement. After a year of collaboration we officially formed the Bayard Rustin Coalition in July 2007, with the permission of Bayard Rustin’s Estate. Bayard Rustin was: Martin Luther King Jr’s mentor, chief organizer, pioneer of the movement’s nonviolent resistance, and the man behind the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, during which Dr. King delivered his iconic “I have a Dream” speech. In the bold yet loving spirit of Mr. Rustin, the Bayard Rustin Coalition embraces advocacy and education to effect positive social change. We honor a visionary ethos rooted in the Black and same gender loving experience.
Bae Black Boy: Bringing BLACK queer men and others together to build community.
