The San Francisco Democratic Party is seeking motivated and reliable Paid Canvassers to support member communications and voter engagement efforts in District 2 (Marina, Cow Hollow, Pacific Heights, Presidio Heights, and surrounding neighborhoods). Canvassers will be responsible for direct voter contact on behalf of the Party, ensuring Democratic members in District 2 are informed and engaged ahead of the June 2026 election
PAID CANVASSER CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Voter Outreach: Conduct door-to-door canvassing across District 2, engaging Democratic Party members on key issues and encouraging participation in upcoming elections.
Data Management: Record voter contact data accurately using mobile canvassing tools (PDI); training provided.
Literature Delivery: Distribute Party materials and information to voters during canvassing shifts.
Phone Banking: Participate occasionally in phone-based voter contact efforts as needed.
Data Management: Utilize voter databases and tracking tools to monitor progress, analyze field data, and report on the effectiveness of outreach efforts.
Team Participation: Attend brief team check-ins and training sessions to maintain quality and consistency of member communications.
PAID CANVASSER QUALIFICATIONS:
Reliability: Dependable, honest, and detail-oriented — accurate data entry is essential to the success of our field program.
Communication Skills: Comfortable engaging with strangers and communicating clearly with a wide range of community members.
Physical Requirements: Able to walk for extended periods across hilly San Francisco neighborhoods.
Persistence: Able to maintain a positive and professional demeanor through low-response conditions typical of door-to-door canvassing.
Interest in Civic Engagement: Genuine interest in San Francisco politics, local government, or community organizing.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with voter databases such as PDI or VAN is a plus but not required.
Passion for Democratic Values: Commitment to the principles and goals of the Democratic Party.
Flexibility: Availability during the following shift windows is required:
Weekdays: 4:00–8:00 PM
Weekends: 10:00 AM–3:00 PM
SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION:
10–20 hours per week; preference given to candidates with greater availability.
Shifts are 2–4 hours.
Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience.
Opportunity to expand into additional roles through the November 2026 general election cycle.
The Paid Canvasser position is a part-time, at-will position supporting District 2 member communications under the direction of the San Francisco Democratic Party.
