September 16, 2025 District 4 Special Election Endorsement Calendar

On May 29th, 2025, the San Francisco Department of Elections certified a petition to recall District 4 Supervisor Joel Engardio. They have scheduled a special election which will take place on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

Only voters registered and residing in Supervisorial District 4 will be eligible to participate in this election.

The Issues & Resolutions Committee of the San Francisco Democratic Party has laid out the following calendar for reviewing applications for consideration of endorsement by both the proponents and opponents of the ballot measure campaign pertaining to the recall of Supervisor Joel Engardio.

  • The Issues & Resolutions Committee will release their application and questionnaire on Tuesday, July 22, 2025

  • The application and questionnaire will be open until Friday, August 1, 2025 at 11:59pm.

  • The questionnaire responses will be posted on this webpage and circulated to members of the San Francisco Democratic County Central Committee for their review on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 11am.

  • The Issues and Resolutions Committee will conduct an Endorsement Interview Meeting on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 5:30pm via Zoom. You can view the meeting via Zoom by opening this link here:

    Additionally the meeting will also be live-streamed on our YouTube page. A recording will be posted on the website afterwards.

  • The San Francisco Democratic County Central Committee will deliberate and vote on the endorsement for Proposition A on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 6:30pm. This meeting will be conducted in person and be recorded and uploaded on the SF DCCC’s YouTube page.

  • Public comment will be taken at the beginning of the Wednesday, August 27, 2025 meeting.
