Statement on Calling a Special Meeting to Discuss District 8 Supervisor Race

Statement from San Francisco Democratic Party Chair Nancy Tung

SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Democratic Party will hold a special meeting on Sunday, October 11, 2026 to reconsider its endorsement in the District 8 Board of Supervisors race, in light of newly reported allegations against endorsed candidate Manny Yekutiel.

"Our endorsements must reflect the values of the Democratic Party, and San Franciscans deserve to have confidence in the process behind them," said Chair Nancy Tung. "We owe it to our members and to voters to have thoughtful discussion and deliberation, especially in light of these additional allegations."

The October 11 meeting will give members of the Democratic County Central Committee an opportunity to hear from members and to consider whether the party's endorsement should stand.

Notice of the meeting, including the time and location, will be issued to DCCC members in accordance with the party's bylaws.
