November 2026 Endorsement Process
November 3, 2026 Election Endorsement Applications
The San Francisco Democratic Party issues endorsements for municipal and regional candidates as well as local ballot measures.
The California Democratic Party makes endorsements for federal and state candidates as well as statewide ballot measures. These endorsements become the official endorsements of the San Francisco Democratic Party.
Completed Candidate Questionnaires
These will be available after July 15th, 2026 for Assessor-Recorder Candidates and Board of Supervisors candidates for D2, D4, D6 and D10
All other candidates for other public offices will be available after August 14th, 2026
July 2026: Assessor-Recorder, Board of Supervisors, & Eligible Qualified Local Ballot Measures
A joint meeting of the Endorsements Committee & the Issues and Resolutions Committee will hold a meeting on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at 11am to interview candidates for the following offices:
Assessor-Recorder
Board of Supervisors (Districts 2, 4, 6 and 10)
They will also be interviewing proponents and opponents of local ballot measures anticipated to be on the November 3rd ballot that have applied in time to be considered.
To qualify for an endorsement interview, all candidates for public office must indicate that they support the principles of our Party platform, fill out the candidate endorsement questionnaire, and return it to info@sfdems.org by the following dates:
Assessor-Recorder, Board of Supervisors (D2, D4, D6, D10): Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 5 pm
Candidates must also complete a sexual harassment training and prevention course as required by our Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Policy, which can be found on our website here.
Note: If a candidate has completed a Sexual Harassment Prevention Training due to their employment within the last year and can provide a copy of the certificate confirming that completion, it can be used as a substitute to the requirement above.
Questionnaires will be published to the SF Democratic Party website once the deadline has passed.
The SF DCCC will deliberate and vote to endorse candidates and local ballot measures on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 6:30pm. This meeting will be conducted in person and be recorded and uploaded on the SF DCCC’s YouTube page. Public comment will be taken at the beginning of the meeting.
August 2026: Public Defender, Board of Supervisors (D8),Board of Education, City College Trustee, BART Board & Remaining Qualified Local Ballot Measures
A joint meeting of the Endorsements Committee & the Issues and Resolutions Committee will hold a remote Zoom meeting on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 4pm to interview candidates for the following offices:
Public Defender
Board of Supervisors (District 8)
Board of Education (3 seats)
City College Board of Trustees (3 seats)
City College Board of Trustees (partial term)
BART Board, District 8
As well as proponents and opponents of all remaining local ballot measures anticipated to be on the November 3rd ballot that have applied in time to be considered.
