Reflecting on 2025 and Looking Ahead
Dear SF Democrats,
As we close out 2025, it's time to reflect on the year behind us and the work that lies ahead.
Let's be honest: 2025 brought real challenges for many San Franciscans. With Republicans controlling the Presidency, Senate, House, and Supreme Court, concerns ran deep for our immigrant communities, working families struggling to make ends meet, those who depend on the Affordable Care Act, our LGBTQ+ neighbors, and countless other vulnerable populations across our city.
But we didn't stand idle. California voters showed up and passed Proposition 50, positioning us strategically for the 2026 elections and ensuring we have the tools we need to push back effectively.

Building Community Through Action
Through our Democrats on the Move campaign, we created opportunities for connection and service to strengthen the ties that bind us. Across more than 50 events, you showed up to distribute food, clean up our streets, and engage directly with elected officials. These weren't just activities. They were expressions of our values in action.

Progress at Home
Here in San Francisco, something noteworthy is happening: for the first time in years, people are saying our City is heading in the right direction. We need to sustain this momentum by supporting local leaders who are delivering results: expanding housing opportunities, improving public safety, strengthening public transportation, and ensuring pathways to recovery for those who need help.

The Road Ahead
2026 will be pivotal. Nationally we have the opportunity to take back the House and Senate, and we'll need all hands on deck making phone calls, knocking on doors, and mobilizing our communities. Locally we will continue to support Democrats focused on making San Francisco a vibrant, safe, and affordable city.

Building on the success of Democrats on the Move, we're expanding what works: more volunteer opportunities with local community-serving nonprofits and more chances to connect directly with elected officials so they hear your priorities. With upcoming city supervisor races and other key elections, we'll be creating opportunities for you to meet candidates and hear from the Democrats that will be seeking your vote in 2026.
We Need You
None of this happens without your support. Whether you can mobilize voters, volunteer with local organizations, or contribute financially to fuel our work, every bit matters.
Thank you, SF Democrats. 2026 will demand our very best, and we're ready to meet the moment together.
In solidarity,
Nancy Tung
